My name is Tara Ingram, known by my family and friends as “TaraFaye”. I live in Durham with my husband, Eric, and my two sons, Jordan and Evan. I moved to Durham in January of 1993 after graduating from high school (Moss Point, MS) in May of 1992. I moved here with my sister, Barbara, in hopes of a change of scenery and now consider the “City of Medicine” as my home.
I enrolled at North Carolina Central University in 1995 in pursuit of a degree in Biology with hopes of becoming a pediatrician. In 1997, I was in the office of an advisor and she began to share many things with me. She asked the question, “What other passions do I have in life?” I shared with her my passion for styling hair, which is something I have enjoyed since I was 10 years old. She suggested that I pursuit my cosmetology education and that I can always return to college. Long story short, I attended Carolina Beauty College in Durham and graduated in 1999. I returned to NCCU in 2000 as a part-time student and graduated in May 2004 with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Management.
In the 15 years of being a stylist, I have learned many styling and haircutting techniques while working in hair salons and hair salon coloring chains. Now that I am returning to the hair salon, I am interested in using organic and natural hair maintenance and styling products on my clients. I developed an interest in using natural hair, face, and body care products over the last few years.
After researching and reading many articles on the harmful agents that are used in many hair products, I made the decision to find product lines that have natural agents to use not only on my hair but also on the hair of my clients. Most of my clients do have chemically treated hair whether it is chemically relaxed, colored, or permanent waved and I want to help them to gain and maintain healthy hair by using natural agent based products catered to their individual needs.
